"Time was away and somewhere else"

Past/Times

This year I am working on a project with Thames Rowing Club - where I learnt to row. The purpose is to look at our pastimes (hobbies, passions, nostalgia and the passing of time) and how they can stretch time for us... and the contrast with the chaotic, distraction-filled world we're often experiencing. I'm also having a lot of fun visiting my rowing friends in Putney, sitting in 'tin fish' with the coaches and watching other people do the hard work.

First river and rowing paintings available to buy now

PORTRAIT PAINTING

"Painting someone's portrait is, of course, an impossible task. What an absurd idea to try and distil a human being, the most complex organism on the planet, into flicks, washes, and blobs of paint on a two-dimensional surface."
